Bastardy Bond issued lists all three childrens dates of birth, that William Osborne, a blacksmith from Pulborough, was the father and that the children were born at his house. The Justices of the Peace had become involved when the children became dependant on the parish. William was ordered to pay 2 shiilings a week for each child to the churchwardens of the parish while the children were under their protection, Frances had to contribute sixpence for each child.1
